Experience : Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience required.

License : Required license as an RN.

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI. TNCC preferred.

Must-Have :

Travelers will most often be hired as Med / Tele RN to cover ED Holds.

RN to patient ratios may vary based on acuity.

CNA ratios vary.

Charges may or may not have patients.

Description :

This position is for an RN in the Emergency Department.

The facility consists of 874 licensed beds and is a Level I Trauma center.

It is a teaching hospital with specialized centers for Chest Pain and Stroke.

The hospital has achieved Magnet designation.

The unit has 43 ED beds and 20 boarding beds.

Travelers are expected to float to other facilities within the region as needed.

Patients may present with trauma, cardiac issues, respiratory illnesses, and more.

Common diagnoses include gunshot wounds, stabbings, strokes, chest pain, and other critical conditions.

The RN's responsibilities will include trauma and stroke assessments, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and administering critical care drips.

Travelers will be expected to collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including hospitalists and intensivists, available 24 / 7.

Must be able to manage IV therapy, blood administration, and perform various medical procedures within scope of practice.

Weekend rotations will be required every other week.

Travelers are expected to fulfill holiday requirements as needed.

Up to 6 days off may be approved, excluding holidays.

Scrubs must be navy in color.
