As an integral part of the Infection Control Committee, under the guidance of the VP of Specialty Services, Quality and Safety and Manager of Quality Management, this role is a key pillar in our organization-wide Infection Prevention & Control Program. The Infection Control Practitioner (ICP) is not just a job, but a mission. It involves surveillance and reporting of healthcare-associated infections, investigation of infection or clusters of infections, microbiological monitoring of the healthcare environment, targeted education, consultation, research, data collection, analysis and reporting, development / review of policies and procedures, and continued professional development. The impact of our work is far-reaching, as our patient population's vulnerability to infection necessitates that Infection Prevention and Control efforts span across all hospital departments, services, and disciplines. The ICPs may be called upon to provide services at any Valleywise Health (VH) location. This role may also provide rotational call support for Valleywise Health clinical areas.
