Lead MRO Buyer / Stockroom Specialist MI – JOST International
Introduction : This position reports to the Purchasing Manager. It is accountable for fulfilling all assigned duties with authority delegated commensurate with responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Quote, source, and procure MRO materials and services using a total cost of ownership approach within budget.
- Identify, evaluate, onboard new suppliers, and manage existing suppliers within the MRO (NP) commodity group.
- Establish and manage stock room operations to support maintenance, repair, and operational needs, aiming for 100% uptime for critical equipment and services.
- Support Greeneville, TN with supplier and systems assistance as needed; maintain stock room records per established processes.
- Execute CAPEX-related purchasing in collaboration with operations and engineering; issue purchase orders via SAP ensuring authorization limits are met.
- Assist with invoice discrepancies and ensure PO accuracy.
- Establish reorder procedures and maintain appropriate stocking levels for critical spare parts and MRO supplies.
- Communicate MRO / stockroom needs across JOST departments; report progress and escalate critical shortages.
- Coordinate daily with the stockroom clerk on storage of spare parts, components, and supplies.
- Manage / Maintain Mpulse system for spare parts; perform cycle counts and annual physical inventories.
- Perform root cause analysis for inventory issues and implement corrective actions to prevent shortages.
- Contribute ideas for cost reduction and optimal inventory levels.
- Other duties as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications
Minimum of two (2) years in inventory management or stockroom role.Minimum of two (2) years of buying experience.Associate degree in business or related field, preferred, or equivalent experience.Prior ERP / MRP experience; experience with Mpulse or similar work order software is a plus.Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment.Strong time management, problem-solving, and communication skills; able to work independently.Proficiency in Microsoft Office; intermediate Excel skills.Capable of data entry for receiving, processing, and tracking inventory.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Physical Requirements
Frequent sitting, standing, kneeling, stooping, bending, twisting, walking; ability to lift up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally with / without assistance.Operate handheld scanners and follow all work instructions.Use proper handling techniques to prevent damage and injury; require good hand-eye coordination and vision.Ability to process and manage inventory accurately and safely.Employment Details
