Job description

Pipe Stress Engineer-Steam and Power Generation Projects

ESI is seeking a Pipe Stress Engineer to join our team. This position requires a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and experience conducting pipe stress analysis of piping systems involving steam turbines, pumps, heat exchangers, and tanks.

Responsibilities :

  • Conduct pipe stress analysis of piping systems (both static and dynamic) using AutoPIPE Software
  • Conduct pipe stress analysis for piping systems involving steam turbines, pumps, heat exchangers, and tanks
  • Develop engineering computations and evaluations for critical piping systems for sustained, thermal, and occasional loads
  • Perform evaluation of local stresses on equipment nozzles per WRC107 / 297
  • Evaluate and specify pipe support for all critical piping
  • Collaborate with piping designers and other engineers to optimize pipe routing and pipe support design
  • Extract engineering data from CAD drawings and computer models
  • Develop detailed requisitions for pipe stress equipment and materials
  • Prepare pipe stress reports
  • Perform detailed reviews and checks of stress analysis designs from other stress engineers
  • Lead piping only studies and projects
  • Lead the piping engineering effort on larger projects
  • Create and review new and revise existing P&ID's for steam and power systems
  • Present engineering progress for your area responsibilities at internal and client meetings

Requirements :

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience running Pipe Stress Analysis using AutoPIPE Software or similar software
  • Understanding of ASME, API and ANSI Codes
  • Experience analyzing high temperature and pressure piping systems in Steam and Power Generating Plants
  • Experience conducting pipe stress analysis of piping systems involving steam turbines, pumps, heat exchangers, and tanks
  • EIT Certification
  • PE License preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated to complete project tasks efficiently and meet project deadlines
