Mechanic, Senior

Job Summary

The Senior Mechanic is a multi-craft maintenance position responsible for performing a variety of tasks assigned by Maintenance Supervision. Tasks include but are not limited to checking, adjusting, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

The position also requires the fabrication and replacement of piping systems as well as the welding of carbon, stainless, aluminum and other steel alloys as needed.

This position works under a union contract but is not required to be a member of the union. This position operates on a 12-hour rotating shift from days to nights on a 36 / 48 hour weekly rotation. Every other weekend this position works on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Job Responsibilities

• Pipe fabrication and replacement (carbon, stainless, aluminum, and other alloys)
• Welding (carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, plate fabrication)
• Mechanical repairs (pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, agitators, etc.)
• Electrical troubleshooting (control panels, motors, DCS systems, instrumentation)
• Tool operation (hand tools, power tools, shop equipment, machine tools)
