Responsibilities

• We are seeking a self-motivated Senior Engineer to serve as the Instrument & Control (I&C) Engineer who will participate in planning, specifying, scheduling, designing, implementing, and commissioning facility and infrastructure design changes at NNSS. The I&C Senior Engineer must evaluate existing conditions and devise upgrade designs for highly regulated nuclear facilities. The engineer will also prepare designs for communication systems, including standard phones, voice over IP phones, data networks, outside plant design, inside plant cabling, public address, and security system interface coordination with NNSS security contractors. Network designs will be coordinated with MSTS IT to ensure compatibility with their systems. Familiarity with DOE or NRC regulated design changes is desirable but not required.
• Key responsibilities include supporting validation and verification of software for customer systems (IEEE 1012) and related electrical, network, and control system considerations; implementing designs to meet DOE-STD-1195 for Safety Instrumented Systems at DOE nonreactor facilities; designing network diagrams, plan layouts, control schematics, and subcontractor specifications; providing technical oversight of subcontracted designs; and collaborating with external partners and other disciplines to achieve mission objectives.
• Serve as an advisor to management and other personnel on difficult technical issues; participate in business development by defining customer needs, developing proposals, and planning projects; work with customer personnel to ensure needs are clearly defined; and help ensure deliverables meet objectives.
• Apply knowledge to implement innovative solutions in new technical areas.

Compensation

Annual salary range for this position is $99,340.80 - $149,011.20. Starting salary is determined based on market value, candidate education and experience, and internal equity.
