Job Details – California Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner

Location : Ferndale, CA 95536 (Northern California healthcare jobs)

Setting : Family Medicine Clinic (pediatrics and adults; must see patients 12+ years, preference for infants)

Employment Type : Locum Tenens / Per Diem Nurse Practitioner

Schedule : Monday – Friday, 8 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM

Patient Volume : Minimum 18 patients per day

Shift Duration : 12-hour shifts

Estimated Weekly Hours : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $3,390–$4,020 per week

Assignment Start : February 23, 2026 (ongoing locum tenens opportunity)

Credentialing Timeframe : 30–90 days

Nurse Practitioner Qualifications

Active California Nurse Practitioner license

Current Furnishing License with Schedules II

Active DEA registration (required prior to start)

BLS certification (current)

Minimum 3 years of experience in acute care or family medicine nurse practitioner roles

Ability to see patients ages 12 and up (preference for providers comfortable with infants)

Up-to-date credentialing immunizations (Flu, TB, MMR, Hep B, Varicella, Tdap)

Board Certification required (Family Nurse Practitioner or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner)

CV must include month and year for all work experience; all employment gaps explained

Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities

Deliver acute and primary care to pediatric and adult patients in a family medicine clinic

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and manage ongoing care

Ensure timely chart closure within 72 hours of each patient encounter

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide comprehensive clinical support

Maintain compliance with clinic protocols and all credentialing requirements

Provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a community-focused environment
