VP of Software – Autonomous Systems & Ocean Technology

A venture-backed company operating at the forefront of ocean technology is seeking a Vice President of Software to lead and scale its engineering organization. The company is developing autonomous systems and data platforms that are transforming how marine environments are explored, mapped, and understood.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams across software, hardware, and operations.
• Define and implement architectural standards and best practices for robotics, autonomy, perception, and controls.
• Oversee deployment of AI / ML models at the edge, including real-time inference and sensor fusion.
• Build scalable geospatial data platforms, APIs, and analytics pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate operational needs into technical solutions.
• Ensure software systems meet high standards for security, reliability, and performance.
• Align technology development with strategic and commercial objectives.
