The Bureau of Field Operations is responsible for the survey and certification process of health care facilities across the State of Florida.
These surveys ensure that all state licensed, and federally certified health care facilities meet the established state and / or federal requirements and patients and residents receive safe, quality health care.
Field Operations staff also ensure the safety of residents in health care facilities when emergencies such as natural disasters occur.
The Work You'll Do
The incumbent in this position must have knowledge of the hospital survey process, including having successfully completed all mandatory federal and state training regarding acute care hospitals and EMTALA.
The primary function of this position is to conduct health facility surveys for compliance with hospital regulations, with a focus on nonemergent care access plans, emergency access and EMTALA complaints as they arise.
The survey process includes state licensure and certification requirements for participation under Medicare / Medicaid.
The incumbent may be required to perform these duties as a team member or as an individual.
The position will be a team coordinator and coach, ensuring consistency through the survey process and providing guidance to team members.
Instructs AHCA employees and provider / suppliers in a variety of professional nursing and related topics in both formal and informal settings.
Acts as a resource for nursing practice and quality of care questions.
Participates in professional development activities, and job-related training and educational courses.
Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464 and four years of licensed professional nursing experience.
