National Grid is hiring a Senior Specialist, Stakeholder Engagement for Massachusetts. This is a Hybrid Role - Must live within a commutable distance to one of our locations

Job Purpose

This role will serve as a core member of the Energy Access team, which is focused on designing and implementing strategies to help the company operationalize its equity commitments. With responsibilities spanning both regulatory reporting and community outreach, this Specialist. will ensure that the company's projects, planning, and operations reflect corporate values and meet regulatory requirements.

Key Accountabilities

  • Track compliance deadlines and reporting deliverables
  • Draft, review, and submit regulatory filings in coordination with Legal, Regulatory, and Project teams
  • Represent the company at community forums, municipal hearings, and regulatory proceedings
  • Build and maintain a database of community stakeholders, including environmental justice and 'hard-to-reach' groups
  • Design and implement outreach strategies that integrate equity, environmental justice, and language access standards
  • Develop public-facing materials that are clear, accessible, and translated into key languages
  • Track, analyze, and integrate stakeholder feedback into regulatory filings and project decision-making
  • Support preparation of cost recovery documentation with accurate engagement records
  • Deliver periodic and annual reports on engagement activities and regulatory compliance metrics
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent practices across regulatory and community functions
  • Conduct internal trainings for Company staff on corporate and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in public policy, communications, public relations, social sciences, law, business management or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in regulatory reporting, compliance, stakeholder engagement, community organizing, or other public facing roles
  • Familiarity with Massachusetts regulatory processes and Environmental Justice policy preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to write reports and engage with diverse communities
  • Strong organizational and task management skills, with ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Ability to travel for community meetings, hearings, and stakeholder events
  • In lieu of a bachelor's degree, candidates may be considered with a minimum of 7 years of directly relevant professional experience in regulatory reporting, stakeholder engagement, or community outreach

    Salary - $108,000 - $127,000

    This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
