Pay Range : $26.00 an hour
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides compassionate, quality nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician. The LPN is responsible for assisting with patient care, monitoring health status, administering prescribed treatments and medications-including injections-and supporting the overall care plan to ensure the best outcomes for patients.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Participate in the effective operation of milieu-related activities ensuring client safety and participation and supporting clients in adhering to the program and housing guidelines and expectations.?
- Read and interpret client information, medical and clinical directives, making treatment decisions when appropriate
- Provide direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, collecting specimens, and assisting with activities of daily living.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments, including oral, topical, and injectable (intramuscular, subcutaneous, intradermal) medications as permitted by state regulations.
- Consult with supervisors and doctors to decide on the best treatment plan for client
- Participate in quality management meetings designed to improve healthcare processes and improve client outcomes; immediately report any patient safety issues and participate in plans to implement processes that support the highest quality of care standards.
- Input verbal orders given by the Medical Director and PMHNP
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient records.
- Provide patient and family education on treatments, medications, and health maintenance.
- Support infection control, safety, and quality standards.
- Assist?clients in completion of counseling assignments and appointments.
- Provide clients with transportation support, as needed.
- Assist?with admissions and discharges, including medication review, conducting bag searches, orienting new clients to the program, and ensuring all related documentation is complete and accurate.
- Participate in training and meet licensure expectations related to training.
- Conduct UA testing as needed.
- Attending assigned weekly administrative, clinical, and training meetings.
- Ensure that housing policy and procedures related to client and environment safety are conducted as scheduled and in accordance with policy and procedure.
- Ensure medical supplies are maintained.
- Other tasks as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Current state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.Current CPR / BLS certification.Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.Preferred two years or more of experience in a related field.Ability to implement and enforce program guidelines, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.Knowledge of records keeping, documenting, and filingSpecific,required, current, and active licensure, registration, or certification must be maintained in good standing.Preferred candidates should have sound understanding of mental illness, co-occurring disorders, and milieu therapy.Proficient computer skills and ability to use various software programs.Have a valid driver's license in good standing and auto insurance.Successfully complete drug screen and comprehensive background check.Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends as needed. Flexibility and adaptability in schedule are essential.Physical Demands
