Finance Clerk
Performs a variety of routine and complex clerical accounting functions including financial record keeping and reporting; processes billings, invoices, purchase orders, requisitions, checks, check requests, tax reports, payments and / or deposits.
Prepares and processes one or more of the following financial documents : invoices, billings, purchase orders requisitions, checks, and check requests; reviews and verifies the same for accuracy and completeness.
Posts and tracks payments to ledger; tracks balances of the same; ensures appropriate staff remain aware of account balances; opens new account files and closes terminated account files in accordance with established procedures.
Files voucher posting, payment posting, and payment batches in proper place; send payment batches to the Business Administrator and Area Commander on a regular basis to be approved; maintains logs so that batches can be accounted for at all times.
Balances batches before printing checks or posting; obtains signatures on checks; distributes checks to vendors.
Education and experience : High School diploma or GED AND two years progressively responsible experience working in a general office with accounting and bookkeeping responsibilities, OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Certifications / Licenses : Valid Driver's License
