POSITION SUMMARY
The Network Engineer I designs, implements, maintains, and supports our growing network infrastructure. This position is part of the systems engineering team that is responsible for supporting scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures in tier III environments that meet business objectives and SLAs.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivers personals tasks on time and leads the delivery of tasks for natural or cross-functional workgroupParticipates in initiatives, including cross-functional projects, with deliverables and meets quality standards, on timeCreates System Design DocumentsEstimates system level and enterprise solution project detailsImplements complex business rulesResponsible for fulfilling end-user requestsProvides on call support as requiredRoutinely operates under deadlines and may be subject to extreme workloadsPeriodically provides guidance to and assists in training less experienced individualsWorks with guidance or minimal guidanceREQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GEDMinimum 3 years of proven hands-on network engineering experienceBasic understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)Basic understanding of the OSI or TCP / IP modelHands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics toolsExperience and ability to support :Firewalls, Routers, Switches, Wireless Controllers, Wireless Access Points
VLAN management, implementation and troubleshootingExcellent communication and facilitation skillsPREFERRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of multiple infrastructure and internet working methodologiesTechnically proficient in switching, routing, security policy (firewall), and load balancing technologies; act as internal consultantExperience with critical facilities (electrical, HVAC, physical security)Experience within DevOps and Systems Engineering teams, knowledge in Storage / SAN, Compute, and .NET Web Application managementSecurity Sensitive PositionPHYSICAL / MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
