The Service Technician is responsible for assembling machines and sub-assemblies, installing machines in customer facilities, and providing technical service and support both in-house and at customer sites. The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, comfortable working independently or with a team, and capable of troubleshooting issues in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This position requires travel—up to 50%—to support customer installations and service needs.
Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in machine assembly, machining, or service support roles preferred.
Associate degree or certificate in electronics, mechatronics, or machine maintenance preferred.
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, often on short notice.
Proficient with computers and MS Office.
Experience with PLCs, mechanical schematics, and assembly blueprints.
Ability to lead projects and work independently in the field.
Forklift and overhead crane operation experience a plus.
Responsibilities :
Assemble machines and sub-assemblies according to specifications, including plumbing hydraulics and pneumatics.
Perform in-house demonstrations and customer-site installations.
Tune and adjust machines to ensure optimal operation.
Troubleshoot and repair machines both remotely and onsite.
Install retrofit accessories and rebuild or refurbish existing machines.
Communicate with customers regarding maintenance and operation issues.
Use PLC troubleshooting and programming skills to resolve machine issues.
Maintain proper housekeeping and adhere to safety protocols.
Represent the company in a professional manner at customer facilities worldwide.
