About the Role

As a teacher at Uncommon Schools, you will play a pivotal role in implementing our curriculum and ensuring the success of our students. We are looking for passionate educators—both experienced and new—who are eager to grow and collaborate within our vibrant school community. We are currently hiring for all grades and subjects for the 25-26 and 26-27 school years.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement engaging curricula and activities that meet our high academic standards.
  • Analyze assessments to measure student progress and adapt instructional practices accordingly.
  • Focus on student learning, thinking critically and strategically to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Create a positive, structured learning environment that upholds our core values and expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Commit to ongoing professional growth through our annual three-week staff orientation and continuous training.
  • Participate in grade-level activities and school-wide functions throughout the year.

  • While a background in education is not required for new teachers, a passion for working with K-12 students and prior experience in schools or urban communities is preferred.

    • Additional Qualifications for Experienced Teachers :

  • Proven track record of high achievement in the classroom.
  • A minimum of two years of teaching experience in an urban public or charter school setting is preferred.
  • Valid State Certification and a Master’s degree are beneficial but not required.

    • Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university before employment begins.
  • A cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher by the time employment begins.

    Compensation

    The salary for this role ranges from $56,000 to $80,000 . Starting pay is determined by various factors, including relevant teaching experience, education certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools. Candidates without full-time teaching experience will likely start at $56,000.
