We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Brentwood, Tennessee. This fully onsite position is offered as a Contract to permanent opportunity, providing an excellent pathway for career growth and skill enhancement. The ideal candidate will bring at least three years of accounting experience and a strong foundation in US GAAP, with a focus on delivering accurate financial reporting and supporting organizational goals.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare and post journal entries in alignment with US GAAP standards and company policies.
- Reconcile various accounts, including cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, prepaid expenses, and accruals, on a monthly basis.
- Support month-end and quarter-end closing processes by ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Conduct variance analysis and assist in the preparation of management reports to provide actionable insights.
- Maintain detailed schedules for balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure data accuracy.
- Assist in documenting internal controls and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with operations teams to validate expense allocations and revenue recognition processes.
- Address inquiries from internal stakeholders, auditors, and management regarding financial matters.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and accuracy in accounting workflows.
- Contribute to ad hoc projects, including system integrations and upgrades, as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience, either in public accounting or corporate settings.
- Solid knowledge of US GAAP, with familiarity in ASC 606 / 842 considered a plus.
- Proficiency in accounting systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365, and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- CPA designation or CPA-track candidates are preferred but not mandatory.
