Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Level I Trauma Emergency Department role requiring NM or compact RN license and current TNCC certification.
Responsibilities
Position is based in a Level I Trauma and Teaching Hospital Emergency DepartmentWorks with both adult and pediatric populations, with floating to Adult PCUs expected and optional floating to Peds EDPatient ratios are 1 : 5 in the EDMajority of ED patients are admitted, with a high percentage in ED holdingNight shift role (3x12 hours from 19 : 00 to 7 : 30), 36 or 48 hour contract optionsWeekend scheduling required as needed on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nightsUses Cerner EMRResponsibilities include medication administration, including IV meds, and thorough documentation and communication of clinical findingsIncreased number of admit holds in the departmentNo on-call requiredMust wear black scrubsFloating to Adult PCUs expected during staffing needs and potential floating to ED Holding and TraumaFirst-time travelers are considered but travel experience is strongly preferredRTO greater than 7 days requires approval; no RTO permitted first 7 days or last day of contractPerm employees may return as travelers if separated for 12 months or moreDrug screen required within 30 days of startHoliday coverage required; limited to one holiday bundle unless otherwise approvedRequirements
Active NM or compact RN license required; license may be pending at time of considerationMinimum of 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience required, Level I Trauma experience strongly preferredCurrent certifications required : ACLS, BLS, TNCC (must be in hand), NIH (can be in process), PALSTravel experience preferred, but candidates with at least 2 years Level I Trauma experience consideredNo locals within 75 miles of facilityCOVID vaccination required unless medical or religious exemption form is completedValid Driver’s License or written transportation plan requiredBenefits
