Summary

The Lease Analyst is a key member of the Strategy & Integration team that will engage with all business units at Travel Centers of America. This individual will collaborate with internal and external business partners to help execute TA’s real estate strategy. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded real estate professional with experience in commercial real estate and asset management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and execution of real estate portfolio management strategy including requirements gathering, financial analysis, market research, reporting, and approval memos.
  • Conducts research & analysis to help support and drive corporate real estate decisions such as new lease agreements, renewal options, and terminations.
  • Maintains data integrity within systems to ensure all lease terms, payments, and critical dates are accurate and met.
  • Collaborates with internal business partners to validate our real estate strategy and present findings / recommendations for executive approval to move forward.
  • Serve as a main point of contact and assists in the resolution of day-to-day issues and questions from landlords, tenants, legal, AP / AR, Hospitality, Construction, Operations, and other stakeholders both internal and external.
  • Helps drive tenant growth and rental income at our company owned locations by marketing available space, sourcing leads, and helping lead the lease administration process to ensure a smooth transition for tenants into our properties.
  • Acts as a project manager for DOT takings, easements, and condemnations. Helps facilitate the requests internally to provide the most beneficial outcome for the business.
  • Effectively communicates expectations, requirements, and status of deals to key business partners - both internal and external.
  • Pro-actively develops effective internal and external working relationships to understand the needs of others and offer advice and solutions to improve ways of working, maximize use of resources and embed learning into the service area where appropriate.
  • Ensure bp’s safety, risk, and compliance culture and expectations are met. Prioritize safety in all aspects of the role and support the Believe in Zero safety philosophy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Minimum of 3 - 4 years of real estate and asset management experience preferred
  • Experience in lease management / negotiation, understands corporate real estate concepts and structure
  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem solving skills
  • Effective communicator both written and verbal
  • Initiative taker, willing to break down barriers and create opportunities.
  • Proactive problem solver. Ability to identify a problem or opportunity and act on it.
