Job Description
Facilities Engineer job in Anchorage, AKLocation: Anchorage, AK strong> Pay: $35-$38/hr. W2 strong> Type: 6-month contract strong> JOB DESCRIPTIONRESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and install telecommunications facilities including cable racks, lighting, AC/DC power systems, and distribution.
- Provide technical support to engineering, installation, and operations personnel.
- Estimate installation labor time and materials, coordinate supplies, and provide installation support.
- Understand industry standards and compliance requirements such as Bell Core/Telcordia, IEEE, and NEBS.
- Possess a working knowledge of AC/DC electrical/electronic systems and engineering analytical skills for calculating and evaluating telecommunication infrastructure.
- Work with facilities and equipment such as Central Office infrastructure, transport, power and grounding equipment, and high-speed data network equipment.
strong> QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Telecommunications, or similar field.
- 2+ years of experience working in similar roles involving power systems.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must live in Alaska, preferably in or near Anchorage, and be willing to do field work.
- (Bonus points for PE License.)
