IT Intern

POSITION SUMMARY

The BorgWarner Information Technology Intern Program is designed to provide a hands-on opportunity and environment to learn the profession of Information Technology at the entry-level from the perspective of a Tier-One Automotive Supplier. We are seeking IT Interns for the traditional spring and fall semesters as well as the summer months between the spring and fall semesters.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Perform entry-level service desk (aka help desk) functions including call answering / routing.

Diagnose and resolve entry-level technical hardware and software issues.

Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, and electronically.

Install new software on users' computers.

Clean, modify, and repair computer hardware including monitors, keyboards, and printers.

Follow standard service desk procedures.

Track and route problems and requests and document resolutions.

Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention.

Work closely with other IT professionals.

Redirect problems to appropriate resources.

Learn to become a liaison between IT professionals and end users.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Working knowledge of fundamental operations of relevant software and hardware equipment (i.e. Microsoft Windows operating systems, Dell hardware, and Cisco network equipment).

Pursuing a BS in a related field with a minimum GPA of 3.0 / 4.0.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Must be self-driven and able to accomplish entry-level troubleshooting tasks with decreasing supervision.

Microsoft or other industry certifications (i.e. ITIL, A++) are a plus.

Pay Range : $19.04 - 25.96

Additional Details :

This position requires a minimum of 15-20 hours a week during the school semester
