Position Description
Title : Unit Director
Reports To : County Director of Operations
Primary Function :
Under the supervision of the County Director of Operations, the Unit Director has responsibility for directing / managing the overall daily operations of the designated Clubhouse with the primary concern for programs, service delivery and ensuring safety. The Unit Director is responsible for the coordination and implementation of the Clubs programs, development of a comprehensive strategy to increase recruitment, retention and Clubs ADA, supervising staff personnel, the care and up-keep of the facility, community engagement and budget development / control.
Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities) :
Leadership
Ensure an environment with programs and services that prepare youth for success and facilitate achievement of aspirations of Club members
Contribute to the planning and implementation of the strategic plan
Recruit, select and manage site staff
Make recommendations for expenditures
Ensuring a Safe and Positive Environment
Ensure a clean, healthy, safe, positive environment is created and maintained producing a sense of physical and emotional safety for all Club members
Ensure program planning, development, implementation and evaluation
Manage program schedules
Responsible for implementing outlined behavioral expectations and procedures for Club members
Responsible for meeting club targets in ADA, membership, and program excellence in three key outcome areas : academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character and leadership
Community Collaboration and Partnerships
Maintain collaborations and partnerships with parents and guardians, community leaders and other BGCA alliances.
Required Skills / Knowledge :
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university
A minimum of four years work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization
Thorough knowledge of recreation and youth development theory
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to recruit, train, supervise and motivate staff
Ability to deal effectively with members discipline concerns
Attain a Class B CDL w / P endorsement within 2 months
Pay
$40,000-46,000.00 (based on education and experience)
