Engineering Laboratory Technician

BOYD (Woburn) is a market leader and manufacturer of high-performance cooling systems for use in high technology markets such as laser, X-ray, MRI, data centers, traction, and semiconductor manufacturing and test equipment. No one has a broader range of thermal management solutions.

In this position you will:

Support Engineering Activities

• Perform monthly calibrations on furnace controllers and Temperature Uniformity Surveys.
• Aid in collecting and analyzing process data from vacuum brazing, heat treating, and aging furnaces.
• Support engineers in writing procedures and reports.
• Build and assemble fixtures (for core stacking, vacuum brazing, pressure testing, .
• Fabricate special tooling as required.
• Provide support to the factory.

General Requirements

• Proficient in the use of standard hand tools and measuring equipment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Capable of assembling process fixturing.
• Ability to use a personal computer (MS Word & Excel, data logging,

Maintain Laboratory Equipment and Instrumentation

• Calibrate temperature controllers, thermocouples, etc.
• Recommend acquisition and/or replacement of instrumentation.

Educational Requirements

• High school diploma, Associates degree in Engineering, or an equivalent number of years of related job experience.
