The Automation & Control Trainer collaborates with businesses and educational partners to design deliver and continuously improve customized training and professional development seminars for employees and students in advanced automation control systems and Industry 4.0 technologies. This role is pivotal in preparing a progressive workforce for the evolving demands of smart manufacturing digital transformation and integrated technologies. Training may occur at employer sites educational campuses or virtually offering flexibility to meet diverse client needs. This position will also be responsible for scoping contract work and providing technical assistance to our industry partners in the CVTC district.
Responsibilities :
- Facilitate learning and instruct courses in automation control systems robotics IIoT data analytics and smart manufacturing concepts.
- Develop revise and implement curriculum aligned with Industry 4.0 standards and employer needs.
- Plan and deliver instruction using modern educational technologies and hands-on labs.
- Manage classroom lab or virtual learning environments effectively.
- Maintain and update training equipment and labs as appropriate.
- Assess student learning and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Communicate and maintain positive relations with internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in professional development and stay current with emerging Industry 4.0 trends.
- Develop contract training courses when curriculum is not available.
- Facilitate contract scoping and development for work in this area.
- Deliver non-credit training programs and seminars focused on advanced automation and control technologies.
- Attend industry conferences and events to represent CVTC promote training programs and engage in networking opportunities.
- Support sales efforts by identifying potential partnerships generating leads and communicating the value of CVTCs training solutions to prospective clients.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities :
Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external customers.Expertise in automation platforms (e.g. Siemens Rockwell Mitsubishi) robotics PLCs HMI VFD motion control networks hydraulics pneumatics and motor control.Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies : IIoT cyber-physical systems cloud computing data analytics machine learning and smart sensors.Ability to work with training participants in both one-on-one and group settings.Proficiency in using technology to support learning and teaching including simulation software remote labs and digital collaboration tools.Proven ability to plan organize instruct and facilitate high-quality educational experiences.Strong time management and organizational skills.Ability to relate successfully to individuals of diverse backgrounds.Entrepreneurial mindset and adaptability to rapidly changing industry needs.Ability to model integrity through self-awareness personal accountability ethical behavior quality standards and sustainable practices.Ability to think critically by applying problem solving practices acquiring relevant information using technology and other resources appropriately and evaluating alternatives.Ability to communicate effectively by speaking and writing clearly concisely and professionally; practicing active listening; reading critically and adapting communication for audience.Ability to recognize personal biases adapt to different cultural situations and demonstrate a commitment to respectful interactions with persons of various ethnic cultural socio-economic or educational backgrounds.Advanced knowledge of and skills with technology including software programs for communication data collection and decision making including but not limited to Office 365 Suite.Ability to maintain a flexible schedule including availability for evening weekend or online engagements as appropriate.Ability totravel (i.e. access to reliable transportation) to various campuses businesses organizations and other sites as needed to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.Qualifications
Associates degree from an accredited college or university in a related field with six years of relevant experience OR bachelors degree in a related field with two years of relevant experience preferred.Extensive experience in electromechanical industrial maintenance automation or related fields (minimum 2 years / 4000 hours).Experience with Industry 4.0 technologies and platforms.Must possess and maintain a current and valid Wisconsin drivers license and acceptable driving record; this includes meeting all requirements as indicated by CVTCs insurance carrier.Prior teaching or training experience preferred.Qualified per CVTC requirements at time of and throughout employment as an instructor. Must also meet and maintain Higher Learning Commission (HLC) requirements Faculty Quality Assurance System (FQAS) standards and / or other job specific licensing standards.In evaluating candidates for this position the College may consider a combination of education training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge skills and abilities to perform duties of position.
