Example of Duties :

Under limited supervision, Manages the Reporting section within the Finance Department, including the areas of capital assets, EMS Billing, investments, chart of account maintenance and financial reporting. Oversees preparation and analyses of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) in accordance with general accepted accounting principles, prepares monthly and other annual financial statements, as required. Coordinates the external financial statement audit, researches and implements GASB pronouncements and provides assistance with other special projects as assigned. Responsible for conducting inventory reviews, assisting in year-end account closings, and developing annual budgets. Reports to the Chief Finance Officer.

Education and Experience :

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business / public administration or a related field; 5 years’ experience in governmental accounting or audit; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license required upon hire and duration of employment. Out of state driver’s license will be accepted only if the individual is a permanent resident of that state.
• Must take and successfully pass a pre-employment drug test, Motor Vehicle Records driver license check, as well as submit to random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing. A criminal background check must be completed by the County of Robeson for potential applicants.
