Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele position focused on post-surgical and trauma patients, requiring Epic charting experience and a VA or compact RN license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a 26-bed acute care Med / Surg Tele unit
  • Care for a diverse patient population, primarily general surgery and trauma patients
  • Post-surgical patients comprise 90% of the unit, with 10% having medical diagnoses
  • All rooms are equipped for cardiac monitoring, capnography, and continuous pulse oximetry
  • Night shift position with 4x12 hour shifts (19 : 00–07 : 00)
  • Schedule includes every other weekend and two of the three winter holidays
  • Epic EMR is used and experience is required
  • Floating within scope of practice is expected per facility policy
  • Primary responsibilities include caring for post-surgical and trauma patients with telemetry and advanced monitoring
  • Must complete up to 16 hours of non-billable orientation modules specific to the specialty during orientation
  • Adherence to facility float policy is required
  • No block scheduling accommodations are available
  • A maximum of 40 hours of requested time off is allowed during each 13-week contract
  • Candidates must have been separated from prior employment at the facility for at least one year to be eligible to return
  • Return assignments are limited to a combined total of 365 days

  • Active VA or compact RN license required; pending license accepted if in hand before start date
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred but not required
  • Previous experience in an acute care MS / Tele setting required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Two professional references needed for consideration
  • Nursys license verification required
  • BSN preferred
