Controls Engineer
The Controls Engineer will develop electrical schematics, PLC programs, and intuitive HMI designs to effectively control automated equipment. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment, leading controls projects from conception through implementation.
Responsibilities :
- Solve complex controls engineering problems from component to full system integration.
- Provide engineering expertise and technical support to sales, procurement, manufacturing, and field service teams.
- Collaborate closely with design and manufacturing teams to meet project timelines and ensure quality deliverables.
- Develop detailed schematics and panel layout drawings based on solid knowledge of electrical theory, industry standards, and best practices.
- Create organized, structured, documented, maintainable, and reusable PLC ladder logic utilizing established programming standards.
- Design intuitive, user-friendly HMI screens that offer clear, effective machine feedback for diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Contribute actively to the creation and review of machine documentation, including bills of materials, technical drawings, and operational manuals.
- Troubleshoot and debug electrical panels, wiring connections, and safety circuits as necessary.
- Perform occasional travel to customer sites for installations, commissioning, and technical support.
Qualifications :
3+ years of experience as an Automation & Controls Engineer or Robotics Engineer, specifically in deploying automated electromechanical systems in project-driven environments. Equivalent experience in closely related roles will be considered.Proven experience designing and implementing fault-tolerant systems with robust error handling and recovery capabilities.Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.Familiarity with NEC / OSHA safety regulations and standards.Proficiency with Rockwell Automation software tools (Studio 5000 Logix Designer, View Designer, FactoryTalk Optix) highly desirable.Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required; familiarity with AutoCAD and SolidWorks Electrical is a plus.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.High attention to detail, quality-focused, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.Experience programming FANUC, Kawasaki, or Yaskawa robots preferred.Knowledge of SQL databases is beneficial.Salary : $100,000 to $120,000 based on experience
