Mark Thomas is hiring a Senior Engineering Design Technician! The role of the Senior Engineering Design Technician is to create drawings, prepare proposal or report graphics, and provide general drafting support. This position conducts work in a manner that results in efficient, high-quality accurate drawings and engineering documents on schedule and within budgets. Our ideal candidate has the experience and technical expertise to immediately assist an engineer by creating the sheets necessary for a construction plan set or design study. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares structural engineering plans, drawings, design details, and other documents in accordance with Company standards and Caltrans standards where applicable.
• Stays current with Caltrans Detailer Alerts and Bridge Standard Details and informs the Structures staff with new updates.
• Trains new engineering & design technicians on CADD, Company, and client standards.
• Reviews work products of less experienced technicians for quality and standards compliance to meet project expectations.
• Updates project managers and supervisor regarding status of projects.
• Develops processes & improvements for increased efficiency of production.
• Responds to inquiries from project managers, staff, and clients in a timely manner.
• Assists with design technician workload and provides direction and guidance to mentor staff as needed.
