ABOUT THE JOB
Anduril's Maritime Division is responsible for planning and executing Anduril's product and revenue roadmap for maritime missions. Working across product, engineering, business development, logistics, and operations, the Maritime team develops, tests, deploys, and sustains the Anduril maritime capabilities in a challenging operational environment worldwide. This role requires a technical leader who can evaluate, qualify, manage, and advocate for an increasing number of sophisticated parallel pursuits, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic direction and appropriate resourcing to balance innovation with practical execution.
You will lead the development of manufacturing methods and prototypes for maritime products from concept to delivery. You will work closely with partners and subcontractors to develop designs that are readily producible and traceable to customer requirements.
The role requires leveraging technical expertise and leadership to set objectives, build cross-functional teams, and drive rapid project execution. The ideal candidate will have experience planning, managing, and successfully completing complex projects.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- The Manufacturing Lead, Surface Maritime will lead the creation of a novel production system for Anduril’s surface vessels
- Own the manufacturing value-chain, including Design for Manufacturability, tool design & selection, process creation & optimization, vendor sourcing & interaction, quality planning, and work documentation
- Own relationships with Anduril’s key manufacturing partners for surface vessel production (USV), managing progress and accountability for cost, quality and delivery during rapid product development and manufacturing ramp
- Provide design-for-manufacturability (DfM) feedback to the design team to enable scale
- Complete and maintain capacity analysis for surface products, identify limiting factors for scaling production, and initiate interdisciplinary projects to remove them
- Complete and maintain product NRE and COGS models to understand major cost drivers of NPI and production
- Contribute to CapEx planning, including facility expansion and factory design
- Write documentation required for successfully manufacturing, integrating and testing hardware at scale (e.g., work instructions, quality plans, inspection requirements)
- Work hands-on with technicians and engineers, building prototype hardware
- Integrate with Anduril’s product development approach and build relationships across multiple business lines; partner with engineering leaders to drive program execution across groups of engineering teams
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Industrial Engineering, Material Science, or proven experience in a relevant field; minimum of 5 years experienceAbility to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearanceTravel 25% to customer and test sitesPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentExperience running complex external projects, such as a production ramp at a contract manufacturerExperience owning commercial responsibility (cost) for complex external projectsExperience driving process improvements in a manufacturing settingFamiliarity with maritime systems and military customersExperience working with prototype and production manufacturing methods – large format 3D printing, casting, welding, machining, stamping, etc. Familiar with supply chain and vendor management for these technologiesPersonal experience physically manufacturing hardware via machining, fabrication, soldering, assembly, etc. Project experience is a plusCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS
US Salary Range : $108,000 — $162,000 USD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on compensation factors including base salary. Actual salary offer may vary based on experience, education, training, critical skills, and business considerations. Equity grants are included in many full-time offers as part of total compensation.
