Position Summary And Purpose
This position is for a full-time, on-site Process Engineer. The Process Engineer will be tasked with optimizing production processes, ensuring product quality, and spearheading continuous improvement efforts to boost efficiency and competitiveness by up-to-date tools.
Essential Responsibilities
- Process Optimization : Continuously monitor and analyze the extrusion process parameters such as temperature, pressure, speed, and material flow to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvement.
- Troubleshooting : Investigate and troubleshoot any problems or defects in the process, such as material inconsistencies, or equipment malfunctions, and implement corrective actions to address them.
- New Product Development : Work closely with product development teams to develop and test new products, including conducting trials, adjusting process parameters, and providing feedback on feasibility and manufacturability.
- Documentation and Reporting : Maintain detailed records of process parameters, production data, and quality control metrics, and generate reports to track performance, identify trends, and communicate findings.
- Complete time studies to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Coordinate continuous improvement and production process refinement efforts.
- Responsibilities related to ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
- Establish and monitor process safety compliance / CI.
Preferred Qualifications
35 years' experience as a Process Engineer or similar roleStrong background in involvement in process improvement initiatives like Lean or Six SigmaLean tool experience VSM, TPM, Std WorkProficient in Std work, process capacity, operator / operation balancingSPC, data analysis, project management experience preferredCrossfunctional teamwork with departments like production, quality, and maintenanceProficient in structured problem solving (5 whys, 5Ms, A3, etc.)TPM (maintenance and operator-based PM)Drive process complianceEducation and Training
Bachelor's degree in field of EngineeringAt least 2 years in a manufacturing settingPhysical Demands And Working Conditions
The Process Engineer position requires regular standing and walking. There will be some stooping, squatting or kneeling, reaching, bending. There will be regular lifting of 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear. The employee will work in a noisy and dusty environment and may be exposed to heat or cold.
