What This Job Involves :
As a Cost Estimator, you will work as part of the Cost Management division and support the organization, assisting in developing cost estimating for various projects using local market analysis while providing superior client service and experience. You will interact with and review data required from all prime contractors and subcontractors for the projects, adding cost controls through construction administration while developing construction cost budgets from preliminary, schematic, design documents & construction documents in support of a variety of construction projects for retail restaurants and associated sitework and vendor items. This role involves comparing budget costs to benchmark pricing information, analyzing quantities and scope items as well as assisting in value engineering while enhancing overall cost controls service delivery by increasing efficiency and improving processes.
What Your Day-To-Day Will Look Like :
- Develop construction cost budgets from preliminary, schematic, design documents & construction documents in support of variety of construction projects for retail restaurants and associated sitework and vendor items
- Compare budget costs to benchmark pricing information, analyze quantities and scope items as well as assist in value engineering
- Enhance overall cost controls service delivery by increasing efficiency and improving processes and manage cost changes to prototypes
- Support in developing and maintaining customers historical cost benchmark for various project types
- Prioritize requests to meet or exceed the customers' expectations
- Interact with and review data required from all prime contractors and subcontractors for projects
- Add cost controls through construction administration
- Communicate analyzed data to client and team to achieve project goals
- Support Business Development initiatives as assigned or requested
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Accounting, Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management3 to 5 years of experience in cost management and understanding of CSI trade costsAbility to regularly communicate analyzed data to client and team to achieve project goalsWorking knowledge of architectural & engineering drawingsFlexibility with work hours and travel as neededHighly organized with strong analytical skillsStrong interpersonal skills with ability to interact with customer's executives and JLL executivesAbility to successfully communicate with architects, engineers, contractors, client's representatives, and team membersKnowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Project softwarePreferred Qualifications :
Experience in Construction Management or Real EstateProficiency in cost estimating software (RS Means, Onscreen Center, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, CostX, Plan Swift)Experience with retail restaurant construction projectsUnderstanding of sitework and vendor item costingExperience with value engineering processesKnowledge of prototype cost management and change controlDemonstrated ability to support Business Development initiativesExperience developing historical cost benchmarks for various project typesUnderstanding of construction administration and cost control processesLocation : Onsite
