Job descriptionHigh school graduate or equivalent. At least 60 semester hours at an accredited institution; or an associate degree (or higher). Passing score of 456 or higher on the ParaPro Assessment. Current government‑issued identification. Personal computer literacy (word processing, email, spreadsheets, electronic file management, reporting software). Supports and upholds the district’s mission, vision and strategic goals. Establishes a safe, supportive, positive and productive learning environment. Operates general office and technology equipment needed for daily activities. Maintains confidentiality of employee and student information. Participates in all professional meetings and training sessions. Requests and maintains materials needed for daily responsibilities; performs other job‑related duties as assigned. Provides instruction as directed by the teacher’s lesson plans. Lectures, demonstrates and uses technology teaching aids. Maintains order in the classroom; supervises student activities. Refers students with discipline problems to appropriate administration. Assists teachers with primary academic instruction and classroom activities. Follow student Behavior Intervention Plans, Individualized Education Plans. Provides basic first aid needs of students. Maintains and updates computerized inventory of library holdings and patron information. Prepares and processes orders, reports, bibliographies, and library schedules. Assists with book orders and receives books selected for purchase by the school librarian. Prepares and issues overdue notices; receives payments for overdue, lost or damaged materials. Performs general library duties : cataloging, checking materials in and out, shelving, weeding, mending, preparing displays. Assists school librarian in managing students and classes while in the library. Assists in conducting an annual physical inventory of library materials. Maintains neatness and cleanliness of the library.
