Position Summary :
This position serves as the primary liaison between Williamson Health and the physician population to foster relationships through targeted visits and issue resolutions to drive referral patterns and volume. The Physician Liaison will serve as a critical link between internal clinical departments and external referring providers, fostering two-way communication, promoting hospital services, and driving referral growth. This role combines business development, strategic outreach, and service excellence to expand the hospital’s market share and enhance the patient referral experience.
Position Requirements :
Formal Education / Training :
Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, marketing, or related field (required); Master's degree preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare business development, physician relations, or clinical sales.
Experience working in a hospital, medical group, or healthcare network strongly preferred.
Equipment and Skills Training :
Computer software experience : Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook. Experience with database programs a plus. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer service orientation.
Proven ability to develop trust with physicians and healthcare providers.
Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills and business acumen.
Proficiency with CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and data analysis tools.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and goal-oriented with the ability to work independently.
Physical Environment :
Professional office environment, in addition to outside corporate and community event locations as deemed necessary by the department’s work plan.
Physical Effort :
Ability to stand up to four hours at time, load and unload boxes for special events outside WH. Must exhibit strong communication skills-–both verbal and written.
Key Results :
Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with referring physicians, practice managers, and key decision-makers.
Conduct regular in-person practice visits to promote health system services and address referral patterns and concerns.
Facilitates Provider Communications including but not limited to : Newsletter, Emails, and Surveys.
Participates in Physician Events including Doctors Day, Annual Credentialing, Holiday parties, etc.
Work collaboratively with marketing, medical staff office, service line leaders, and health system administration to identify and execute opportunities for referral growth as well as provider satisfaction and recognition activities.
Monitor referral data and trends to identify gaps and opportunities.
Facilitates New Provider Orientations including tours and manuals.
Manages Health System CME licenses opportunities including creation and distribution of certificates and attendance records.
Serve as the feedback loop between community physicians and health system leadership, escalating concerns and tracking resolution.
Works with Marketing Team on physician led activities including videos and photos.
Provide regular reports on referral activity, visit outcomes, and business development metrics.
