Under the direction of a designated Certificated Administrator and Clinical Supervisor, provides direct mental health services to students (individuals and groups) with intensive needs, parent counseling, consultation, and treatment coordination to students and families to improve school performance. Assists with coordinating services by providing training, education, and program development to address and implement tiered interventions through a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework. This position is expected to carry a caseload of students and collaborate with all stakeholders in building a coherent system of coordinated support within a MTSS framework. Serves as a liaison between counselors, students, families, school sites, support staff, and various community services agencies, with a primary focus on: the mental health and wellness of students, supporting social-emotional goals, and educational access.
THE CANDIDATEEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of education, training and experience sufficient to meet the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (CA BBS) requirements for any of the following: Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW), Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC), which includes a minimum of a Master's degree in the designated field of study.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: - Valid California driver's license.
- A current, valid associate number from the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (CA BBS) as an Associate Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Professional Clinical Counselor. Incumbents are required to maintain a valid associate status as a condition of continued employment.
- Some positions may be required to translate oral and written communications between English and a designated second language.
THE DETAILSSELECTION PROCESS: The selection process tentatively includes the following:
Step 1: Application screening(pass/fail) Applications will be screened for minimum qualifications. Applications will be evaluated and ranked according to criteria that most closely meets the needs of the department, so it is essential that applicants provide as much detail as possible and answer all parts of the application, including work experience and the supplemental questionnaire. If there is a high number of qualified applicants, a comparative screening will be conducted to determine which of the applicants will be selected for invitation to the performance examination and qualification appraisal interview.
Upon qualifying, applicants will be notified by email with further instructions. Applicants must pass the application screening to advance to the next step, the qualification appraisal interview.
Step 2: Training & Experience Evaluation: (weighted 100%) A Training and Experience Evaluation (T&E) is a structured evaluation of the job application materials submitted by a candidate, including the written responses to the supplemental questionnaire. The T&E is NOT a determination of whether the candidate meets the stated requirements; rather, the T&E is one method for determining who are the better qualified among those who have shown that they meet the stated requirements. In a T&E, applications are scored and rank ordered according to criteria that most closely meet the business needs of the department.
All applicants must achieve a passing score in each part of the examination process in order to be placed on the eligibility list.
ADDITIONAL SALARY INFORMATION New Hires - Initial Salary Placement The District has established criteria in place that recognizes the education and experience new employees bring to their role in supporting students and the services of the District. Upon approval of the Director of Classified Human Resources, a new employee may be provided with advanced step placement up to Step 5 based on the following criteria:
Additional qualifying experience beyond that required for entry into the class (limited to no more than one step for each two years of experience related to the classification)
Additional education at the college level beyond the educational requirements established for entry into the class (limited to no more than one step for each two years of education related to the position)
All new hires placed at Step 1 of the salary schedule will advance to Step 2 after successfully completing the six-month probationary period.
Longevity increments are offered based on years of service with the District: an additional 1.20% of base salary after completing 4 years of service, 4.10% at 9 years, 7.08% at 14 years, 10.15% at 19 years, 13.31% at 24 years, 16.46% at 29 years.
Promotional and/or transfer candidates will be placed at the appropriate step in accordance with established Personnel Commission Rules & Regulations.
Education Incentives All active, regular classified employees are eligible for an education incentive if they possess a college degree which is related to their classification and is above and beyond the stated minimum qualifications for their classification.
AA/AS = 2.50%
BA/BS = 4.00%
MA/MS = 5.00%
Ed.D./Ph.D/JD = 6.00%

VACATION Vacation is earned based on assigned hours. (For example: a new employee working 8 hours/day, 12-months per year will earn one vacation day per month, up to a total of twelve (12) days of vacation per
year. Employees who work less than 12-months per year or less than 8 hours/day shall be entitled to a prorated share of vacation benefits as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.) Vacation earned increases with years of service with the district.
SICK LEAVE The district provides for 1 day of illness leave per month worked, with unlimited accumulation for unused days.
