Regional Operations Manager

Family owned and operated regional service company successfully serving customers since 1934 has an opening for a Regional Operations Manager. This position is responsible for the overall leadership of multiple facilities within a specific region and plays a critical role in our corporate team environment. This position will be responsible for the overall management of the salaried and hourly workforce of the multiple processing Plants and Service Centers within their region and will include inventory control, processing, distribution, equipment maintenance and building maintenance, sales, service, billing and collection. The position will report to the President of the company. The Regional Operations Manager will be the business process owner responsible for strategic and tactical management of all plant, sales and service functions. The ideal candidate will consistently contribute to overall excellence that will meet or exceed customer and team objectives. This position has a critical role in our corporate team environment. The expectations will be to consistently strive and contribute to overall excellence that will meet or exceed corporate objectives. Direct oversight of management staff, supervision and support staff will be the main responsibility of this individual. The primary responsibilities will include :
Management of Plant & Staff Positions
- Training and mentoring of Management and Supervisory personnel.
- Coordinate and ensure all corporate training and procedure guidelines are being met for all associates
- Manage multi-functional areas including Production, Engineering, Office Administration, Sales, Route Deliver Drivers, Operations Mangers, and up to one hundred associates.
Responsible for all company assets including :
Building, equipment, fleet, inventory, and partsAccounts receivable, monitoring and collectionBuilding and grounds maintenanceVehicle maintenanceQuality manager and quality controlStrategic and tactical implementation :
Assist in the development and implementation of supply chain strategies that tightly connect for company to its vendor and customer baseAssign management to specific duties that best utilize their experience and maximize productionEstablish operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping accurate warehouse inventories, including utilization of designated computer systems if applicable.Efficiencies of production develop production schedules to utilize equipment and employees most effectively.Purchasing & price negotiationCoordinate flow of product and information to both internal & external customers :
Work closely with Distribution Centers, Sales department, vendors, and customers to provide uninterrruped flow of product to our customers.Communications to the Senior Vice President, President, Corporate Office, support staff and sister companies.Monthly Production / Engineering, and Safety Committee Meetings as well as weekly & monthly report review, completion of same.Competencies :
Formal education preferred
A Four-year degree or 8 years of experience as a facility operating managerStrong Management skills necessary
Formal training on how to manage and lead by example.Conflict resolution and training are key components for this positionGood common senseBudgetingP&L responsibility, evaluations & presentationsGoal setting, delegate and follow-upOperating multiple business unitsStrong technical skills
