About The Position
SHIFT : 5 Days - 8 HoursSTART : ASAPRATE : $90REQUIRED : Licenses, Registrations, or CertificationsLicensure : New Mexico licensure as an Occupational TherapistCurrent American Heart Basic Life Support (BLS) card from AHA.Weekend RequirementYesOn Call RequirementNoFloating Requirement / LocationsNoNurse / Patient Ratio1 : 1, usually no more than 8 patients within a day. Mainly ortho cases but can expect , implement and evaluate patient care programs designed to assist disabled patients regain physical and social stability and relearn daily living activities through the utilization of selected occupational therapy procedures. This description is not intended to be a complete list of duties. Other related duties may be knowledge and skills necessary to provide services based on the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and other related criteria appropriate population in his / her assigned areaMaintains required core competencies.Complies with set Policies and Procedures (i.e. name tag, dress code, parking, smoking, etc.)Plan, organize and participate in medically orientated occupational therapy programs to include evaluating extent of abilities and limitations and assisting patient regain coordination through the utilization of selected occupational therapy procedures; determine activity assignments to obtain a therapeutic goal.Assist clients in performing activities of all typesUse physical exercises to help patients increase strength and dexterityUse activities to help patients improve visual acuity and the ability to discern patternsUse computer programs to help clients improve decision-making, abstract-reasoning, problem-solving memory, sequencing, coordination, and perceptual skills.Design or make special equipment needed at home or at workDevelop computer-aided adaptive equipment and teach clients with severe limitations how to use that equipment in order to communicate better and control various aspects of their environment.Occupational Therapists may work with particular populations, i.e. children, the elderly, or may work in specialized settings, i.e. mental health.Observe and evaluate patient's progress; design treatment plans and recommend programs suited to individual potential and rehabilitative needs.Coordinate occupational therapy with other therapeutic activities according to patient's needs, capabilities, interests and treatment goals and objectives.Participate in ward rounds, patient care conferences, consultations and educational programs designed to improve patient care and staff performance; recommend new occupational therapy methods and techniques.Prepare and maintain a variety of records and files indicating patient progress, care plans and related statistical data as required by departmental and hospital policies. degree in Occupational TherapyExperiencePerforms related responsibilities as assigned.Licenses, Registrations, or CertificationsLicensure : New Mexico licensure as an Occupational TherapistCurrent American Heart Basic Life Support (BLS) card.Work Schedule : 5 Days - 8 HoursWork TimeShow more
