Job description

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to support day-to-day operations and contribute to larger database and security projects. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Oracle and SQL Server environments, a solid understanding of database patching and vulnerability remediation, and excellent communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support ongoing database administration tasks across Oracle and SQL Server platforms.
  • Contribute to vulnerability management projects by reviewing vulnerability spreadsheets, analyzing affected servers, and coordinating remediation efforts.
  • Work closely with multiple teams to perform vulnerability scans, prioritize threats, and implement fixes through patching or SQL scripting.
  • Manage and remediate 20–30 database vulnerabilities concurrently, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Collaborate with patching teams and developers to coordinate testing and deployment of security patches.
  • Explain and troubleshoot database issues with development teams and recommend solutions.
  • Participate in project meetings and support additional DBA-related initiatives as required.
  • Provide on-call and after-hours support as needed.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience as a Database Administrator (DBA).
  • Hands-on experience supporting both Oracle and SQL Server environments.
  • Demonstrated experience with database vulnerability management and patching.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess and address database security vulnerabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and priorities.

  • Experience with automated patch management tools.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards and database security best practices.
  • Scripting experience in PowerShell, Python, or similar languages for automation.
