About The Role

United Health Services, the largest and most comprehensive provider of healthcare services in upstate New York's Southern Tier, is hiring a Surgical Stepdown Staff Registered Nurse to join our team at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY. The Surgical Stepdown Unit is a small, collaborative environment monitoring patients coming out of the operating room. This unit works with a handful of Physicians at once.

Schedule : 12 hour shifts; 7-7; every 3rd weekend

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Monitoring patients post operation – including ventilators and drips

Monitor critical care patients

Keeping a close eye on vital signs and rapidly responding when needed

Administering medications as provided by Physician

Keeping accurate documentation

Qualifications

A valid NY RN license

ACLS certification

Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team

Previous ventilator or drip experience

1 year bedside nursing experience

Preferred

At least 1 year in Critical Care, PACU, Progressive Care in inpatient hospital setting

Work is performed in an office environment and patient care areas which require working in proximity to other employees and patients.

Rooms are air conditioned and heated.

Frequent walking, standing, bending and lifting.

Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.

Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants.

PPE (Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, and Gloves) as required by Infection Control policies

Sign-On Bonus : This unit is eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $25,000.
