Job Summary

Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal‑directed patient care to families and patients at a competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.

Qualifications

Minimum Training and Education : Associate degree in nursing. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations : Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required : either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR / AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.

Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors, conducting work outside in temperature extremes, working from elevated areas, confined / cramped spaces, kneeling positions, bending at the waist, twisting at the waist, squatting, performing pinching operations, gross motor activities with fingers and hands, firm grasping, fine manipulation, reaching overhead, repetitive motions with hands / wrists / elbows / shoulders, use both legs and lower extremities for balance and coordination, lifting and carrying 50 lbs. unassisted, lifting / lowering objects 50 lbs. from / to floor from / to 36 inches unassisted, lifting from 36" to overhead 25 lbs, exerting up to 50 lbs. of force, maintaining 20 / 40 vision (corrected), seeing and recognizing objects close or at a distance, matching / discriminating colors, determining distance / relationship between objects, depth perception, good peripheral vision, hearing acuity (with correction), gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements, dealing effectively with stressful situations, working rotating shifts, overtime, latex safe environment, maintaining tactile sensory functions, olfactory sensory function (selected positions), respirator use qualification.
