Overview
We are seeking an experienced Buyer to manage the procurement of pipe, fittings, and flanges across multiple industrial applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sourcing and negotiating piping commodities, with excellent supplier management skills. This position is responsible for ensuring a reliable supply chain, maintaining cost competitiveness, and supporting both project and operational requirements.
Responsibilities

- Source, negotiate, and purchase pipe, fittings, and flanges from approved vendors.
\n
Manage supplier relationships to ensure on-time delivery, product quality, and competitive pricing.\n
Review technical specifications, Mill Test Reports (MTRs), and project requirements to ensure material compliance.\n
Prepare and issue RFQs, analyze bids, and award purchase orders in alignment with company policies.\n
Monitor inventory, lead times, and usage trends to maintain optimal stock levels.\n
Identify and resolve supplier performance or quality issues promptly.\n
Track and report cost savings, supplier performance metrics, and market trends.\n \n
Qualifications
\n
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience.\n
3-5+ years of procurement experience in industrial piping or related industries.\n
Strong knowledge of pipe, fittings, and flanges standards (ASME, ASTM, ANSI, etc.).\n
Experience with ERP / MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).\n
Strong negotiation, analytical, and supplier relationship skills.\n
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and material specifications.\n
Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.\n
Clear and effective communicator with strong team collaboration skills.\n
Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset.\n
Results-oriented focus on cost savings, supply reliability, and vendor quality.\n
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.\n
Experience with stainless steel, nickel, valves and copper alloys, as well as government contracts and import / export compliance, are a plus.\n
