JOB DETAILS :

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio, is seeking a fellowship-trained Gynecologic Oncologist to join our mission of service to women of South Texas with gynecologic cancer.

The Division of Gynecologic Oncology currently includes four board certified faculty, a thriving fellowship program with three fellows in training, inpatient and outpatient advanced practice providers, a patient navigator, and a nurse supervisor. We are seeking a faculty member who aligns with our values of collegial relationships built on mutual trust, respect, and support for one another.

Our team serves a growing diverse, under-represented patient population with opportunities for disparity research and other scholarly activity. The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology has experienced a significant increase in both basic and clinical research activities during the past decade. The research faculty in our department engages in endeavors pertaining to the creation of novel therapeutics and translation into the clinical setting. We consistently rank among the highest recipients of NIH funding for Obstetrics & Gynecology departments nationwide.

The faculty are members of the UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center, the only NCI-designated cancer center in South Texas.

A competitive compensation package, including comprehensive benefits, is being offered to qualified candidates. Academic rank and salary will be based on experience and curriculum vitae.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical care of patients with gynecologic cancer in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Supervision and education of OB / GYN residents, fellows, and medical students.
  • Participation in multidisciplinary care teams and tumor boards.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited ACGME residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and an ABOG-approved fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology
  • Board eligible or board certified in Gynecologic Oncology
  • Must meet qualifications for Texas Medical License
  • Ability to contribute to research activities and clinical teaching
