We are seeking a part-time Associate Attorney with a minimum of 5 years experience in probate and trust administration. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage client matters with both technical skill and empathy. This role is well-suited for an attorney looking to refine their practice in probate and trusts while working a flexible schedule. This is a hybrid position that requires two days in office each week.
Duties
- Draft, review, and file probate petitions, pleadings, and related court documents.
- Assist with trust administration, including preparation of notices, accountings, and distributions.
- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda on probate and trust issues.
- Communicate with clients, beneficiaries, and fiduciaries with professionalism and sensitivity.
- Represent clients in probate hearings and related court proceedings (as needed).
- Maintain case files, track deadlines, and ensure compliance with court requirements.
- Collaborate with the principal attorney and support staff to move cases efficiently.
- Meet with existing and potential clients
Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Active license to practice law in the State of Washington (in good standing).5+ years of experience in probate, estate planning, or trust administration preferred (willing to train the right candidate).Strong legal research, writing, and organizational skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and empathy.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management software (experience with Clio is a plus).Ability to take the lead on casesSeniority level
