Job description

Job Title : Quality Assurance & Compliance Technician

Department : Quality Assurance

Reports To : Quality Assurance Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Compliance Technician to join our team in the Precision Investment Casting industry. This role supports the development, implementation, evaluation, and monitoring of methods, procedures, and programs to ensure product quality. The technician will also help maintain certifications for REMET Corporation's Food Safety Program and Quality Management System, while ensuring compliance with all safety, health, and environmental standards across REMET's U.S. locations and subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management System (QMS)

  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the QMS to ensure ISO 9001 compliance.
  • Coordinate with departments to develop, update, and maintain documented procedures and work instructions.
  • Participate in annual ISO site assessments.

Audits & Corrective Actions

  • Assist in managing the internal audit program : schedule, prepare templates, perform audits, and provide reports.
  • Conduct on-site audits and issue corrective / preventive action requests.
  • Track and follow up on corrective actions from internal, customer, or third-party audits.
  • Training & Documentation

  • Support the development and delivery of training programs on QMS, Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), documentation changes, and audit findings.
  • Maintain training records, track compliance against position requirements, and assist in updating position guides.
  • Supplier & Customer Compliance

  • Complete customer-issued supplier surveys and certifications.
  • Manage REMET's Approved Supplier Program and related documentation.
  • Monitor calibration schedules and maintain Calibration Reports across U.S. locations.
  • Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS)

  • Support EHS program development, including manuals and Injury & Illness Prevention Programs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; assist with permits, licenses, and reporting.
  • Conduct and monitor facility safety inspections per OSHA standards (e.g., HVAC, fire / security, emergency systems).
  • Keep management informed on regulatory updates and recommend solutions.
  • General

  • Follow all ISO 9001 procedures and REMET Quality Policy.
  • Maintain certifications and training required for the role.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Working Relationships

    Internal

  • Collaborate with senior management on ISO 9001 compliance, quality initiatives, and EHS issues.
  • Work with managers, supervisors, and employees across all REMET sites on documentation, audits, and corrective / preventive actions.
  • External

  • Represent REMET in EHS matters at trade associations.
  • Coordinate with ISO 9001 registrars, consultants, contractors, and third-party service providers.
  • Essential Job Functions

    Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and stretch for extended periods.
  • Lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Operate a motor vehicle and travel by air, car, or train as needed.
  • Work in environments with varying temperatures.
  • Mental Requirements

  • Basic understanding of REMET products and applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Strong decision-making skills within company policy guidelines.
  • Ability to read and write in English; bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) certification required, with strong knowledge of Food Safety Programs.
  • ISO 9001 knowledge through Lead Auditor Training, Internal Auditor Training, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years' experience in quality assurance and system auditing , preferably in the precision investment casting industry.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
  • Strong planning, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) is a plus.
