Job description, Facility births / month 200-300 , High Risk Antepartum , Isolation Precautions / PPE , Labor and Delivery, Magnesium Sulfate therapy , Mother / Baby, Neonatal Resuscitation, Newborn Assessment , Postpartum Hemorrhage , Recognition and Treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, Recover C-Section, Start & maintain peripheral IV, Triage of obstetrical patients , Tubal Ligation Unit Details Staffing & Scheduling Scheduling Type : self Patient Ratios Days : 1-2 Patient Ratios Nights : 1-2 Patient Ratios Weekends : 1-2 Float Required : Mother Baby and NICU (feeder / growers) Call Required : - Weekend Coverage : True Number of Weekend Shifts Per Contract : 6-7 Pre-Approved Time Off : one Orientation Hours : 36 Facility & Patient Care Details Patient Age Groups : Neonates, Adults Daily Census : 10 Number of Visits Per Day : - Number of Rooms : 14 Number of Beds : 12 Additional Unit Information Interdisciplinary Support : IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Lift Teams, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, Unit Secretary Patient Diagnoses : High risk population to include but not limited to Gestational DM, DM1, DM2 may require insulin gttPreeclampsiaEclampsia Preterm labor Accrete / Percreta Chronic / Gestational hypertensionObesity Still birth Maternal comorbidity Fetal anomalies Low risk populations to include but not limited to Certified Nurse Midwife Special Procedures / Unit Details : Procedures to include but not limited toCesarean Sections RN to circulate (required)OB PACUCerclageBilateral Tubal Ligation Fetal transfusionTriage Special Equipment : Special Equipment to include but not limited toLift equipmentInteroperability Sara Stedy Sit (patient transfer device) Tier2 Travel Compliance RTO - Travelers are only guaranteed up to 40 hours of RTO per 13-week contract. Please confirm RTO requests are accurate at time of submission. No additional RTO requests will be approved after acceptance. If traveler has any vacation plans during the period between Sign Date and Start Date, this must be communicated to the Client Delivery Manager at the time of submission to ensure a realistic start date may be requested Experience - Please refer to the job description for required experience. Valid State License - Will accept pending licenses, but must have license in-hand the Wednesday before start date. However, RRT travelers must have license in-hand at time of submission Mile Radius Rule - select units have a 50 mile travel restriction, any units not listed do not have a mile radius rule. Locals not accepted for the following units : Clinical Lab Blood Bank, Toxicology, Clinical Lab Scientist, Core Lab, Davis Lab, Laboratory, Histotechnologists, Outpatient Surgery Center PACU, OR - CVOR, OR, OR - Ortho, OR - Thoracic, OR - Neuro, Peri-Anesthesia, Sterile Processing Tech, Outpatient Surgery, Interventional Radiology, CT Tech, Diagnostic Rad Tech, MRI Radiology, Neuro Interventional Radiology- RN, Neuro Interventional Radiology Tech, Vein Clinic, Radiology RN, Imaging Support References Required - Yes Float Requirements - Candidates will be asked to float within their scope of practice within the facility. Copy of Certification - Please include copy of certification(s) that are required in the job description with submissions. Required Charting Exp. - Epic experience is required unless otherwise notated in the unit description or job description. Background Policy - If aware of background hit(s), please inform Client Delivery Manager. Return Staff Policy - Please inform Client Delivery Manager if previously employed at any facilities under University of Virginia Health system as permanent staff member or internal / external traveler. For perm staff and internal travelers to be eligible to return, clinician must be separated for one year and be approved by UVA leadership. Note that UVA does not allow external travelers to work on assignment for more than 365 days, regardless of time off between contracts . Separation Policy : Facility does not allow travelers to return after they have worked on assignment for 365 days, despite any separation period . BSN preferred Nursys verification is required for submittal Modules : Modules are non-billable, up to 16 hours.
