Quality Manager (Technical Degree Mandatory)
Location: Memphis, TN
MUST HAVES
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or another technical field
Lean certification (Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean Practitioner, or similar)
Minimum 5 years of quality leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
Proven track record leading quality initiatives and cross-functional teams
Strong knowledge of FMEA, SPC, CAPA, root-cause analysis, APQP, PPAP, and supplier quality
About the Opportunity
Our client is a forward-thinking manufacturing organization committed to quality, innovation, and operational excellence. As the Quality Manager, you will have the authority and influence to elevate quality systems, lead a skilled team, and drive meaningful improvements across production. This role is key to enhancing product reliability, customer satisfaction, and long-term operational performance.
What You Will Do
Lead the Quality Assurance team to maintain and improve quality systems, procedures, and performance metrics
Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements
Act as the primary contact for customer audits, third-party audits, corrective actions, and product quality issues
Drive Lean Six Sigma initiatives to reduce defects, variability, and non-conformities
Monitor and analyze key quality KPIs and present findings to senior leadership
Mentor, develop, and train quality team members
Partner with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, and Customer Service to resolve root causes using structured problem-solving tools such as 8D and DMAIC
Oversee supplier quality performance, including qualifications and audits
Champion a culture of Continuous Improvement throughout the facility
Work Environment
Split between office and manufacturing floor
Occasional travel up to 20% (suppliers, customer sites, other facilities); current passport required
Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a technical discipline
At least 5 years in a Quality Manager or similar manufacturing quality role
Lean or Six Sigma certification required
Strong expertise in quality tools, methodologies, and structured problem-solving
Experience with supplier quality, APQP, PPAP, and compliance processes
Demonstrated leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
SharePoint experience for document control
History of driving Continuous Improvement initiatives
Familiarity with industry-specific standards
