Job description
Empower Communication Across the Lifespan in the Heart of Nebraska - Join Us as a Speech Language Therapist

Overview

Could your next professional journey redefine purpose at its core? As a Speech Language Therapist in one of Nebraska's most dynamic cities, your impact extends beyond treating communication and swallowing issues. You will play a pivotal role in unlocking capabilities, fostering self-esteem, and nurturing meaningful relationships - whether aiding a toddler's first words or supporting a senior in reclaiming independence.

This position provides a rare chance to cater to various age groups within a nurturing environment that balances outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient assistance. Whether your interests lie in children's speech development, adult neurogenic communication challenges, or geriatric cognitive-linguistic therapies, you will discover satisfaction and adaptability in this rewarding role.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assess patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using standardized evaluations and observational methods.
  • Create tailored treatment strategies addressing immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions focusing on aspects such as communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to devise comprehensive care plans.
  • Educate patients and families to facilitate progress beyond clinical encounters.
  • Occasionally assist with inpatient assessments and interventions to ensure seamless care throughout the recovery process.
  • Accurately document patient progress in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Engage in continuous education and peer collaboration to stay abreast of advancements in the sector.
Qualifications
  • Earned a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • A completed Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is necessary for those not yet ASHA-certified.
Required Certifications
  • Current state license as a Speech Language Therapist.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
Essential Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities for all age groups, with a solid grasp of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing obstacles.
  • Exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Adept at modifying therapeutic approaches to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical acumen and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records and detailed documentation practices.
Benefits
  • Attractive salary reflective of experience.
  • Flexible work hours to promote a healthy work-life balance and varied patient caseloads.
  • Chances to specialize in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
  • Paid time off (PTO) and holiday remuneration.
  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance choices.
  • Support for continuing education and professional growth opportunities.
  • A collaborative setting prioritizing quality care and lifelong learning.

Join a Career That Inspires - and Inspires Others

In this role, you will do more than deliver speech therapy; you'll immerse yourself in a community-centric mission dedicated to restoring communication, fostering connections, and creating joyful moments through the most fundamental acts of humanity: understanding and being understood.

You will find allies in colleagues who prioritize teamwork and camaraderie, contributing to a culture that emphasizes cooperation instead of rivalry. Every patient brings a unique story, and it will be your privilege to influence how that narrative unfolds.

Why You Will Cherish Living and Working Here

The rhythm of life in this part of Nebraska resonates with the thrill of cultural innovation, complemented by the warmth of Midwestern hospitality. Cradled by lush landscapes and scenic parks, this locale offers a perfect blend of nature, urbanity, and professional growth.

Families gather for weekend festivals, while outdoors enthusiasts enjoy hiking trails, biking paths, or local parks filled with lush greenery. Culinary adventurers relish the diverse food scene, from food trucks serving up mouthwatering bites to fine dining establishments presenting creative culinary delights.

The artistic pulse of the city manifests in walking tours dotted with murals, live music stages around town, and community events celebrating diversity and creativity. Beyond lifestyle perks, professionals benefit from a robust healthcare network complete with competitive salaries, no state income tax, and reasonable living costs that help build prosperous careers.

In this enriching environment, whether you are a newcomer to the healthcare field or an experienced clinician seeking to broaden your horizon, you will discover ample opportunities for personal and professional development in our welcoming community.

Your Ideal Candidate

We are on the lookout for a Speech Language Therapist who is not only outcome-oriented but also possesses deep compassion. A professional who perceives a reserved child and envisions a future of confidence and self-expression, who listens to the hesitant words of a stroke survivor and senses unwavering determination.

Whether you specialize in pediatric therapy and wish to integrate adult care, or have a focus on neuro-based rehabilitation and seek to enhance your practice with early intervention approaches, we want to connect with you.

If you share our dedication to contributing to society through your skills and empathy, we are eager to welcome you into our family.

Let Us Craft a Story - Together

If you hold the conviction that speech transcends mere sounds, and therapy encompasses more than routines; if you prioritize building trust alongside therapy goals, and cherish the role of laughter in communication - then your next career chapter awaits.

Join our community that recognizes the power of communication, connection, and the courage to begin anew. Take the step towards your future and apply today to help others articulate their stories - while you share your own journey with us.
