Job description

American Traveler is seeking a skilled MICU RN with at least one year of experience, current ACLS / BLS / NIHSS, and a SC or compact RN license for a day shift assignment.

Job Details

  • Work in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) of an acute care hospital,
  • Patient ratio is 1 : 2,
  • Day shift position with three 12-hour shifts per week from 7 : 00 a.m. to 7 : 00 p.m.,
  • Weekend shifts required every other weekend,
  • Holiday rotation is required,
  • No on-call responsibility,
  • Floating within scope to similar units may be required, travelers will float first,
  • Uses Epic EMR,
  • Royal blue scrubs required,

Job Requirements

  • Current SC or compact RN license must be in hand prior to start,
  • Minimum of 1 year recent MICU RN experience required; 2 years preferred,
  • Certifications required : ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS (AHA only),
  • Epic EMR experience preferred,
  • No first-time travelers accepted,
  • Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility,
  • Previous perm or PRN staff must have at least a 1-year separation from system before returning as a traveler,

    • Additional Information

  • Care for critically ill adult patients in a high-acuity environment,
  • Complete pre-start onboarding modules (approximately 4 hours required),
  • Must provide 7 days or less of non-holiday RTO for auto-offer consideration; greater RTO including holidays requires facility approval,
  • All employees may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November),
  • No local travelers accepted,
  • Free parking available on site,
