Description
An Advanced Practice Provider I (APP I) is a licensed direct patient care provider in Florida and / or Georgia. They deliver medical services within their scope of practice under the supervision of a licensed physician. The clinical focus is on Primary Outpatient Care in Community Health, Family Medicine, and General Pediatrics. The role may include performing minor primary care procedures.
Responsibilities
- Obtain patient histories, perform physical examinations, and conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests.
- Develop comprehensive health management plans collaboratively with physicians, pharmacists, and other medical professionals, including documentation such as progress notes and discharge summaries.
- Review, prescribe, and recommend medications and treatments.
- Provide timely referrals for further medical care.
- Educate and counsel patients and families on health care and routine health maintenance.
- Accurately document clinical information in the patient's medical record, including open encounters, MyChart messages, and EMR communications, adhering to compliance and billing guidelines.
- May provide patient education and instruction.
- Call coverage may be required based on departmental needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years outpatient experience.Masters in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) or Physician Assistant program required.Travel
Up to 25% travel may be required.
