Operations Team Member

We are a dedicated tier 1 supplier specializing in the processing and storage of various types of steel. Our core principles focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Continuous Improvement. We operate within a very clean, comfortable, climate-controlled, and modern facility. As a warehouse team member, you will be responsible for assisting with various duties throughout the facility. The position involves operating and maintaining aluminum and steel processing equipment, performing warehousing functions in a manufacturing environment, and being accountable for meeting plant targets for safety, quality, and productivity.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain aluminum and steel processing equipment.

Perform warehousing functions in a manufacturing setting.

Achieve plant safety, quality, and productivity objectives.

Adhere to standardized work instructions for each process.

Use various mechanical and mobile equipment as required by job tasks.

Conduct visual inspections of different materials.

Set up mechanical equipment according to specifications.

Package and unpack steel and aluminum coils for designated purposes.

Utilize measuring instruments to verify product compliance with specifications.

Comply with all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including mopping and sweeping as necessary.

Collaborate effectively with team members to support a cooperative work environment.

Pursue skill enhancement through ongoing training and development opportunities.

Train and develop other employees within the assigned area.

Move or lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.

Operate within a production and warehouse environment containing moving mechanical equipment.

Wear appropriate safety equipment, including a hard hat, safety shoes, safety glasses, and cut-resistant gloves.

Essential Skills

Experience in warehouse operations, packaging, and material handling. Proficiency with scan gun and scanning equipment. Forklift operation experience. Experience in inventory management. Familiarity with metal and aluminum processing. Ability to multi-task and manage multiple items simultaneously. Capability to work independently and exercise initiative. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English. Basic math and computer skills for data entry. Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate information.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Positive attitude and ability to communicate well with others in a group environment. Capability of standing or walking for extended periods of time. Use of hands and fingers to grasp tooling and handle objects, tools, or controls. Ability to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The work environment is a clean, climate-controlled warehouse with a temperature of roughly 70 degrees year-round. Employees work near moving mechanical parts, and the noise level is usually moderate. Proper safety equipment is mandatory on the production floor, including hard hats, safety shoes, safety glasses, and cut-resistant gloves. Shifts include 2nd Shift starting at 6 PM CST, 8+ hours / day with mandatory overtime and weekend work, and 1st Shift. Flexibility to cover other shifts if needed is required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of PRINCETON, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.75 - $18.75 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
