Primary Purpose :

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

Qualifications :

Education / Certification :

• Bachelor's degree from accredited university
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
• Current ESL Certification : ESL Certification required within (2) years of employment beginning with teachers hired in the 2010-2011 school year
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
• Gifted Teachers must have 30 hours of gifted approved hours required

Performance in this role is evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of teachers on the Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS).

Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 15 pounds); May require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (15-45 pounds)

May work prolonged or irregular hours; possible districtwide travel; all campuses are temperature controlled with hard surface floors

2025-2026 Salary Schedule

Minimum teacher salary is $66,500 (base $64,100 + $2,400 Teacher Retention Allotment (TRA) Stipend)

Salary is based on 187 days. If working less than 187 days, the salary will be less.
