JOB INFORMATION
Chemeketa Counseling Center is looking for an outstanding student-centered counselor who will provide short-term mental health, career, academic and crisis counseling services to students. The department also offers Counseling and Guidance courses. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Counseling & Student Support Services, the selected candidate will be part of a team including other faculty members as well as other professional staff in Career Services and Basic Needs. This position will play an active and important role in the development and implementation of Chemeketa Community College's Pathways initiatives. This position also develops programs and services related to mental health, career exploration and wellness. We are looking for a proactive counselor who models a high standard of ethical behavior, flexibility, empathy, caring and is able to embrace changes in their profession. We need a professional who is excited to be part of the team of people who help students throughout their Chemeketa experience and lead with a passion for and knowledge of multicultural awareness.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Counseling
Provides individual, personal, group and psychoeducational counseling services to students utilizing a solution based, short term model of deliveryMaintains current knowledge and skills in counseling and other relevant fields through regular participation in professional development activities with a commitment to lifelong learningComprehends and maintains current information concerning all college programs and servicesServes as liaison to assigned college departments, Chemeketa Pathways, and targeted programsUtilizes excellent listening, written, and oral skillsRepresents Counseling and Student Support Services on campus committees, task forces, and groupsMaintains college facilities and equipmentKeeps up to date on technological changes and developments in subject areaAttends staff meetings and participates in designated committee work; represents the department at pertinent meetings as requiredAssists Advisory Committee as neededConsults with faculty, staff and administrators regarding mental health and student retentionMaintain confidential counseling notes in keeping with current departmental guidelines and Counseling Ethical and Professional StandardsAssists with development, management and continued engagement in community resourcesDelivers counseling in a variety of modalities to meet program and student needs including face-to-face, remote, hybrid, and / or onlineCrisis Intervention

Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or equivalent discipline from an accredited institution
AND-Two years of full-time equivalent experience providing mental health counseling. Internship / practicum experience may be considered

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
